World Book Day turned into World Book Week as classes wrote their six word stories on cards which are now displayed in the library. Also large sheets of card were taped to the library desks and during library lessons pupils were encouraged to express themselves in words using felt tip pens.
In the library, every lunch time, members of staff volunteered to read a short story or a chapter from a book.
Throughout the week pupils were matching author’s names to book titles on cards which were hanging on the bunting.
On the day 21 members of staff had chosen to represent a book character and either wore or had on their desks a prop and pupils guessed who they were using this clue. Also on this day at lunch time pupils could enter various word search competitions. £5 book vouchers and Easter eggs were given for first, second and third prizes for all competitions.
