We are seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to support students with SEND to be able to access a mainstream classroom environment. This post is temporary for a year in the first instance. The post holder will be required to work with students who have complex SEND. As a team player, you will have relevant and recent experience which will support students to achieve their potential.
Candidates with a background in SEND or who have experience of working with students with complex needs are encouraged to apply. ELSA training would be an advantage but is not essential. For an exceptional candidate with the right level of skills and experience, the relevant job description (AAAE 5052) is accompanied.
The successful candidate will have a passion for working with children and experience of tailoring teaching and learning to successfully meet the child's needs. The appointed candidate will be required to work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and the child's family to support the child in their education. They will be approachable, dedicated, enthusiastic and flexible, demonstrate the ability to work as part of a hard working team and have experience in supporting children with social and emotional needs.
The post is SEND funded, therefore the contract is temporary, and linked to the needs of the child.
