11th December 2020
End of Term Arrangements
On Tuesday, the Department for Education informed schools that they could take a training day on Friday 18th December, if one was not already planned.
At Blacon, we will not be taking this option and will continue with our arrangements as planned. I have made this decision as the short notice given could present problems with childcare and working arrangements for parents.
Parents will still be expected to notify the school of any student who tests positive for Covid, up to 6 days after we finish up until 12 noon on Christmas Eve. Please email admin@blaconhigh.cheshire.sch.uk with the date that your child tested positive and the day they developed symptoms. As guided by Public Health, this is to allow us to track and trace for any students who have tested positive and been in school during the 48 hours before developing symptoms. Our usual communication will be used through letter, email and text should we need to contact anyone with the instruction to self-isolate.
Please find below our arrangements for the last day of term. Students will be spending the morning in their tutor groups, enjoying some creative virtual Christmas events which the staff have put together for everyone to experience. Friday 18th December will be a non-uniform day and students are invited to wear a Christmas jumper.
