On Thursday 8th October , our year 7 pupils were treated to a Secondary Music Roadshow provided by Professional Musicians from the ‘Quality Learning Partners’ Music Service. They delighted our pupils with a variety of excellent and engaging performances and introduced their individual instruments. The performance promoted instrumental learning in secondary schools and showed our pupils the options available to join local/regional ensembles such as the Cheshire Youth Band. We were fortunate to have Mr Bowen Lewis, our brass peripatetic teacher as part of the ensemble playing Trombone for us.
Following the roadshow our talented musicians from the Blacon High School Band took part in a workshop with the professionals and worked together to perform one of the BBC ten pieces; Mussorgsky’s ‘A Night On The Bare Mountain’.
Our pupils thoroughly enjoyed the experience and we look forward to welcoming the professional musicians back to our school in the future.
