This is an exciting prospect for a talented and inspirational Teacher of English, to join a dynamic faculty within this very successful 11-16 secondary school. The ability to teach Media Studies is desirable. You will have the energy and enthusiasm to work with young people to achieve their full potential, to make a difference to their lives and act as a role model.

The successful candidate will have experience in developing inventive and engaging teaching strategies in order to drive standards and enhance the educational provision for students. Evidence of achieving successful outcomes at KS4 is desirable, although ECTs will be considered for the post.

As a leading department in the school, the English team work closely with other departments to promote literacy and reading in order to underpin good outcomes at each key stage across all subject areas. The successful candidate will work within a well-developed team to inspire and engage our students and actively contribute to the further development of English within the school.

Blacon High School prides itself on being relentless in its desire to provide outstanding learning opportunities. In September 2016 we moved into a new state of the art building and a further extension was completed in September 2021 due to the school being oversubscribed for the 4th year. This has enabled the school to grow from 600 to 750 students.
