Year 11 exam results 2023
Following a less than straightforward journey throughout their high school career, Blacon High School students are today celebrating their achievements they absolutely deserve.
In recent articles, being named as ‘the unluckiest cohort of students coming out of the pandemic’, this particular group of students have succeeded across all areas of the curriculum and risen to the challenge of this year’s return to ‘normality’. We are very proud to share in their success following such a challenging journey and see how their hard work has been rewarded. All of our students are moving to the next stage of their education and their results have enabled them to access the courses of their choice, whether that be A’ Levels, T-Levels, vocational courses or apprenticeships.
This year’s outcomes reflect the highest level of resilience required and demonstrates Blacon High’s key values that the school holds for all of its students and will, once again, serve as a legacy to motivate the new Year 11, as they embark on their final year at Blacon High School.
Furthermore, Blacon High School is once again extremely proud to announce that they will see another year where students have won fully-funded bursary places via the Hope Opportunity Trust and will be studying their A’ Levels at some of the country’s top independent schools. They will be joining almost forty Blacon High School students who have been successful in achieving places on the bursary scheme over the last eleven ten years. Most are now studying at university or have gone on to some fantastic careers including, medicine, politics, veterinary science and astrophysics.
Headteacher, Rachel Hudson said: `I am incredibly proud of all our students in Year 11 and would like to congratulate them on their achievements. My thanks to all staff, Governors and parents for their ongoing support. We should not underestimate the impact of the last few years in education, during one of the most turbulent times for many years. The resilience and determination of our young people continues to inspire us every day. We wish the class of 2023 every success for the future.’
