Covid Safety for Open Evening – 22nd September 2021
We would like to reassure all visitors to our Open Evening of the Covid safety measures we have in place, to keep everyone safe. Please take a few moments to read this information and follow the guidelines to help us to be Covid secure. Being Covid safe is everyone’s responsibility.
-
Parents, family members, visitors and prospective students who have any symptoms of COVID 19 should not attend the event.
-
Parents and students over the age of 11 years old are encouraged to complete lateral flow tests prior to attending an open day, which shows a negative result for COVID 19. If anyone tests positive, they must not attend the event.
-
Upon arrival, all visitors will be asked for contact details and these will be retained for 21 days to assist contract tracing in the event of an outbreak.
-
For any visitors who are unable to attend the event, the Head teacher’s presentation and images from the night, will be made available on the school website.
-
We ask all visitors to sanitise hands upon arrival use hand sanitiser frequently during their visit.
Respiratory hygiene
-
The ‘catch it, bin it, kill it’ approach continues to be very important. Please use tissues.
-
The government has removed the requirement to wear face coverings in law but recommends that they are worn in enclosed and crowded spaces where people may come into contact with people they don’t normally meet. We therefore encourage the use of face coverings by visitors in enclosed and crowded spaces. We remind everyone that face coverings are intended to protect others.
Social distancing
-
The legal requirement for social distancing no longer applies and there are no limits on social contact between people from different households. COVID-19 can however still be spread through social contact. This risk can be mitigated by reducing the number of people each person has contact with, which is why we ask that visitors book in to one of the three groups at 5.30, 6.30 or 7.30. We have managed the number of attendees using our online booking with specific time slots and staggered tours at these times.
-
Visitors will be given a guided tour of the school after the Head teacher’s presentation in small groups who will start at different locations around school, to avoid overcrowding.
Enhanced cleaning
-
All touch points door handles/handrails will be cleaned more frequently and additional enhanced cleaning has taken place prior to the event and will also happen afterwards.
Ventilation
-
All classrooms and spaces in use during the event, will be well ventilated throughout the event.
