Blacon High School Remembers
Every student at Blacon High School planted a cross in front of the main entrance to the school today in remembrance of all those who fought and gave their lives in the First World War, and all subsequent conflicts, so that we remain free to enjoy ours. The ceremony was supported by students who form the Blacon High School Combined Cadet Force.
Afterwards, students attended a remembrance assembly, which culminated in a moving solo rendition of ‘The Last Post’ by Connor Backstrom. The morning included extended form time, which was used to share the message of remembrance and to ensure that all of our students understand the sacrifice made by those who went before us.
At 11.00AM, the school showed its respect by joining the rest of the nation in two minutes silence to remember all those who have fallen and conclude the event.
