Blacon High School – More Than a School
This very successful 11-16 secondary school is seeking a professional and enthusiastic cleaner who will take pride in our school environment to join our school team. The main responsibilities are to clean designated areas and work as part of the cleaning team.
The role involves cleaning the interior of school buildings to required standards to ensure that they are kept in a clean and hygienic condition. The ideal candidate will have a background in cleaning, the ability to work on their own or as part of a team, and be able to prioritise workload.
We are looking for colleagues with:
- a positive, ‘can-do’ attitude
- excellent communication skills
- high expectations
A professional and discreet approach when dealing with students, staff, governors, and visitors to the school is required. Whilst previous experience of working in a school setting and/or cleaning could be an advantage, it is not essential.
Blacon High School prides itself on being relentless in its desire to provide outstanding learning opportunities, and the successful candidate will join a well-established team. In September 2016, we moved into a new state-of-the-art building and a further extension was completed in September 2021 due to the school being oversubscribed for the 4th year. This has enabled the school to grow from 600 to 750 students.
Further information relating to this role can be found in the accompanying job description and person specification and by visiting the School website at www.blaconhighschool.net. For an informal discussion, or to arrange a visit please contact Laura Rose, Business Manager, on 01244 371475.
Please apply using the online application form from the Cheshire West and Chester Council website; CVs will not be accepted. Application queries via email to recruitment@blaconhigh.cheshire.sch.uk.
Blacon High School is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS disclosure will be sought for the successful candidate in accordance with Safeguarding Children and Safer Recruitment in Education legislation.
Closing date for applications: Friday 11th July 2025
