Dear Parent/Carer,
The 0-19 Starting Well Service are commissioned to deliver school age vaccinations in Schools in the Cheshire West and Chester area.
Due to Covid-19, our service temporarily suspended the vaccination programmes for school age children/young people in March 2020.
We have been working closely with NHS England and Public Health England to plan and implement the restoration of the vaccination programmes.
Pupils in Year 8 and 9 who missed their HPV vaccinations will be invited to one of our clinics over the summer. You will be contacted in due course offering you an appointment to attend one of our venues, to enable your child to receive their outstanding vaccination.
Pupils in Year 9 who would normally have received their Tetanus, diphtheria and Polio and Meningitis ACWY vaccinations this term will receive information in due course about how this programme will be delivered.
Any older pupils in Years 10 and 11 who have outstanding immunisations will be offered an appointment to attend one of our children's centres to receive their vaccinations. We will contact you to arrange this.
On the day of your Child’s appointment please contact us if you are unable to attend on the above number.
If your child or any member of your household is displaying any of the following symptoms, please do not attend the appointment; a high temperature, a new continuous cough, or loss of/changes to sense of taste and/or smell.
Please be aware that we will ask pupils to wear a mask whilst they are immunised. These will be provided at the session.
The nurses and support staff delivering the Immunisations will also be wearing masks, aprons and gloves in line with our infection control policy.
Information on the School age immunisation programmes is available on our website: www.startingwell.org.uk/topics/staying-healthy/immunisations
Yours sincerely,
0-19 Starting Well Service
