The History Department would like to take all students from Year 8 to visit the Slavery Museum in Liverpool’s Albert Dock on Friday 9th January.
All Year 8 pupils learn about The British Empire, Slavery & the Abolitionists as part of their KS3 studies, so this is an excellent opportunity for them to enhance their in-class work, particularly through workshops where they will handle artefacts from the plantations and learn more about conditions for slaves.
We will leave school at 9:00am and expect to arrive back at school at approximately 15:00pm. The workshops and tour are free so all that is required is the cost of the coach, therefore we are asking each student to pay £4.50. This amount will need to be paid by Friday 19th December. All students receiving free school meals will receive a packed lunch, all other students are asked to bring a packed lunch for the day (There isn’t an opportunity to purchase food, so spending money is not required).
If you would like to take advantage of this excellent opportunity, please complete the reply slip and return to school by Friday 19th December 2014.
