We are seeking to appoint a Learning Mentor to provide academic and pastoral mentoring to students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. The successful candidate will have responsibilities for supporting individuals around social and emotional issues and removing barriers to progress.
The post holder will act as the link between students and interventions by identifying barriers to learning and by monitoring student progress in core subjects. A background in working with young people is essential with the ability to focus on achievement to ensure students meet their potential.
The post holder will also work in partnership with other outside services to support students who have TAFs or are at a higher level within the continuum of need. A background in academic mentoring, welfare work or mentoring with young people would be helpful but key is the ability to listen, to have compassion and to form positive relationships that will help students to meet their full academic potential.
