Blacon High School is recruiting Cover Supervisors to join an enthusiastic, committed team of cover staff who work closely with teachers to provide continuity to children’s learning during teacher absences.

We are seeking to appoint highly motivated and flexible team players who will be expected to provide cover in lessons for absent teachers. The role will primarily involve communicating teacher set tasks to students and supervising the completion of that work whilst promoting positive behaviour and conduct.

Working as a cover supervisor can be extremely rewarding but also very demanding. There is a high level of responsibility and although there is always a teacher close at hand if needed, there is a large amount of autonomy.

  • Do you have previous experience of working with young people or a desire to embark on a career working in this area?
  • Are you a flexible, resilient team player?
  • Do you have excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills?
  • Would you be confident in using a range of strategies to deal with classroom behaviour as a whole, and also individual behavioural needs?

Further information relating to this role can be found in the accompanying job description and person specification and by visiting the School website at www.blaconhighschool.net. For an informal discussion, or to arrange a visit please contact Mrs Rachel Hudson, Headteacher on 01244 371475.

Please apply using the online application form from the Cheshire West and Chester Council website. Please note that CVs will not be accepted. Email application queries to recruitment@blaconhigh.cheshire.sch.uk.

Blacon High School is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS disclosure will be sought for the successful candidate in accordance with Safeguarding Children and Safer Recruitment in Education legislation.
