Dear parents and carers,
Officers from Chester Local Policing Unit along with a specially trained dog, will be visiting school with staff from the Westminster Drug Project this term. These visits will be taking place across all secondary schools in Chester. The purpose of the visit is to engage and educate students around the health risks of taking substances, the potential consequences in terms of criminal offences and most importantly to raise their awareness of the risk of being criminally exploited. This will involve assemblies and a workshop to provide information about support. If your child is allergic to dog hair please contact school.
Staff from the Westminster Drugs Project will be available to speak to any students who may have questions or be concerned about drug use. The initiative is not aimed at criminalising young people. This is a proactive partnership prevention and safeguarding initiative the sole aim of which is to keep the young people in Chester safe from those who seek to exploit them.
We look forward to welcoming the Police and staff from the Westminster Drug Project into school as we work together to protect our community and to keep our young people safe.
Thank you for your support.
Regards,
