Update to the Key Stage 4 Options Process

Following feedback from parents and to accommodate the Year 9 Geography trip taking place during the week of the original Options Evening, we have made the decision to combine Options Evening and Progress Evening on Thursday 27th March. This will allow all families to access both events on the same evening and ensure all students receive the information they need to make informed decisions about their Key Stage 4 studies.

The structure of the evening will be as follows:

• 4:00pm – 5:00pm: Appointments with class teachers
• 5:00pm – 6:00pm: Marketplace event in the diner, hall, and ground floor rooms for parents and students to learn more about Key Stage 4 courses and speak to subject teachers
• 6:00pm – 7:30pm: Appointments with class teachers resume

Ahead of the evening, students will attend an assembly explaining the options process in detail. A short explanatory video will also be uploaded to the school website for parents and students to refer to.

Key Dates for the Options Process:

• Thursday, March 27th: Combined Options Evening and Progress Evening (4:00pm – 7:30pm)
• Friday, March 28th: Opportunity for students to speak with current students studying new courses
• Friday, April 4th: Deadline for final option choices
• Post-deadline: Meetings with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to discuss choices (if necessary)

While we endeavour to offer all subjects listed, final course availability will depend on staffing and viable student numbers. Additional information about each subject will be available on Google Classroom, where the final options form will also be completed. The Google Classroom code is 3jadirs.
