Dear parents/ carers,
The national increase in COVID-19 transmission rates is well documented, and although we are not subject to a local lockdown, Cheshire West and Chester is experiencing a significant increase in positive cases within the community.
Following the latest guidance and in partnership with the Education Department and the Cheshire West and Chester, we are now asking that all staff and students wear a face covering in communal areas from Monday 28th September 2020. Please click visit the following link to read letter from the Director of Public Health; http://www.blaconhighschool.net/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/CWAC-letter-re-face-coverings-24.09.20.pdf
By communal areas, we mean:
Coming into school and leaving school.
During lesson changeover and at any other times on the school corridors.
In the school diner when not eating.
Students are not required to wear a face covering when outside at break and lunch but can do so if they wish. I ask you to ensure that face coverings are appropriate for school and are ideally plain in colour. Please also ensure that your child understands how to wear and remove a face covering safely. We will remind students of this on Monday morning.
Further information on this can be found by visiting;
https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/face-coverings-when-to-wear-one-and-how-to-make-your-own/face-coverings-when-to-wear-one-and-how-to-make-your-own
If there are any individual concerns over the wearing of face coverings, please contact the Safeguarding and Inclusion team to discuss further. In order to ensure we continue to remain covid secure, we also ask that:
All adults wear a face covering when visiting or entering the school premises.
In schools where it has been agreed that a parent/carer can enter the school premises for drop off and pick up, only one adult should enter.
Students are to avoid congregating outside school and mixing with other schools and go directly home.
I would like to take this opportunity to also remind you of the school uniform policy for PE:
Grey jumper, no hooded sweatshirts, no logos, badges or brand names
White polo shirt for PE
Black Football shorts/Black Leggings with school logo
White PE socks
I would like to thank you for your support in ensuring we keep our school safe at this time.
Yours sincerely,
Mrs Rachel Hudson
Headteacher
