Three students leave Blacon High School to study A’ levels at the country’s top independent schools.
Blacon High School is proud to announce that, once again in 2019, a further three students were successful at getting through the highly competitive selection process and ultimately won fully-funded bursary places to study for their A’ levels at some of the country’s top independent schools.
This is a fantastic achievement and, yet again, is testament to the hard work, commitment and focus on personal development, along with academic attainment, over an extended period of time from both students and staff alike. Also, it illustrates the strength of the excellent relationships that Blacon High School shares with its students and their parents; the school’s tag line is: ‘Success Through Partnership’.
One of our successful bursary students said: ‘I don’t think I can express how grateful I am for the support I received and the great relationships I formed during the time I spent at Blacon High School.’
And adds: ‘I am especially grateful for the opportunity the school has given me via the bursary scheme because I feel extremely lucky that I’ve been given this chance.’
Headteacher Rachel Hudson commented: ‘Once again, this is an amazing achievement that reflects our ongoing commitment to the young people in the Blacon High School community. My congratulations go to all those concerned and they leave us with the highest aspirations and our very best wishes for the future’.
The headteacher was keen to note that the bursary scheme is one of many different opportunities offered at Blacon High School and emphasised that the school is committed to securing the most appropriate and advantageous routes into exciting and prosperous futures for all of its students.
The bursary scheme is now in its seventh year at Blacon High School and is run in partnership with the ‘Hope Opportunity Trust’ (reg’d charity).
