Blacon High School from Chester will be hoping to shine in front of the live cameras later this month with the announcement that their national English Schools’ FA (ESFA) PlayStation® Schools’ Cup football final will be streamed live online around the world.
Blacon High School U15 team, who will be competing for the ESFA Under 15 PlayStation Small Schools’ Trophy on Tuesday 19th May (11:30 KO) at Reading FC’s state-of-the-art Madejski Stadium, will have their prestigious national final available to view online live at www.playstationschoolscup.com. The live coverage will give anyone in the area the chance to feel a part of what is a proud occasion for the school and to hopefully cheer them on to national glory.
Nearly two million of us regularly sit down on a Sunday afternoon to watch Sky Sports’ Super Sunday, and this multi-camera HD coverage won’t be too dissimilar with instant replays and a live commentary team including former England and Liverpool star John Scales.
This live streaming is an innovative first for the PlayStation Schools’ Cup, with this style and level of coverage normally reserved for the professional game. However it provides the perfect platform for Blacon High School’s talented young players to showcase their skills in front of a crowd both at the stadium and watching at home.
Blacon High School’s final is part of the PlayStation Schools’ Cup Festival, which will see 15 national schools’ champions crowned across three days from Monday 18th May to Wednesday 20th May. All 15 finals will be shown live and after the Festival takes place, match highlights of every game will be uploaded to the PlayStation Schools’ Cup YouTube channel – providing lasting memories for the school and the competing players.
There will also be a ‘Goals of the Festival’ compilation to follow, which Blacon High School will of course be looking to feature in!
