Blacon High School continues to raise standards and promote success for its students. We aim to be the first choice for parents when choosing a secondary school by providing students with a very high standard of education, in a safe and caring environment. I am delighted that our vision for creating a culture of aspiration and success is being realised.
Great things are happening at Blacon High School and the future is very exciting with a brand new building on the horizon. By the September of 2016, the new school building will be complete with specialist science laboratories, art and design areas, state of the art ICT provision and large, open plan learning areas.
Our open door policy to parents and carers visiting the school to see the exciting things that are happening demonstrates our confidence. Blacon High School is a school which is exceeding all expectations, where we work hard to ensure that every one of our students will not just achieve, but excel.
Student news in brief
Everyone enjoyed their half term break and we are now back to school and focusing on progress and next steps,
For the Year 11s, it is a crucial time to ensure that they get the grades that they really deserve. On this web site are all of the revision sessions and after school clubs. Well done to the large numbers of you who are working with us in this way to secure your grades. Keep it up and you will be successful.
We are really looking forward to world book day next week. There are many activities planned for the day and look out for teachers carrying props…. more will be revealed!
Our school elections begin next week (we are mirroring what is happening in the country with the general election)
Look out for the students’ manifestos and remember to vote. The parliament and our elected ministers will make some significant changes to our school so it’s important to vote for the right students.
I am thrilled that the school was awarded the Basic Skills Award which shows how much work we do to ensure that all of our students have the basic skills to support them in their successful futures. Well done to everyone!
